It's no secret how stressful moving can be, especially for people who don't do it on a regular basis. Through our numerous moves we were able to compile a list of things that will speed up your moving transition and of course save you some money in the process:
Throw away items you know you will not use, don't pay to move items you're eventually going to get rid of
Pack away "odds and ends"
Often times it is the little random items that take up the most time when moving
Pack in boxes
Bags tend to tear easily. Also, packing in bags doesn't afford us the ability to use apparatus like hand trucks and dollies to carry more than one item at a time
Don't pack your boxes too heavy
The heavier they are, the longer it takes for us to carry. Rule of Thumb: If you can’t lift the box by the flaps pass your knees, then the box is to heavy
Clear pathways & doorways
This allows for smooth, expeditious transferring of your items.
Have a game-plan
This allows for a seamless transition. Label items such as glass, fragile, this side up, etc
Drain your AC
Condensation causes AC’s to leak when they’re turned off, which can cause a slip and fall accident
They tend to break in transport
Wrap your mattress
Our vehicles are cleaned nightly, but we want to eliminate any possible threat of bedbugs so we ask that all of our customers wrap their mattress for their safety and ours
Empty drawers of all items.
This may seem like an inconvenience but this lessens the likelihood of damage to your property)
Protect memories & High-End items
Our movers are careful, but mistakes still happen and no insurance can cover invaluable items
Put the pets away
We love pets but they tend to get in the way of the moving process
